About the Institution
In 1985, the Nalanda Educational Foundation was founded. In 1986, the foundation opened its first school, known as the "DR. BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL." The Nalanda Educational Foundation was founded with the main goal of bringing education to the illiterate, socio-economically backward community of Chembur and the surrounding area. The Nalanda Educational Foundation created a junior college with an Arts and Commerce programme in June 1989. The foundation hired faculties in the arts and science without outside funding in 2007. The Degree College of Arts, Science, and Commerce subsequently debuted in 2007. The Self Finance Courses was launched in 2011 with BMS, BAF, BBI, BSC-IT and BSC-CS. In 2016, we received the permission for BSC-Hospitality. In 2018, we have started BAMMC, M.Com.(Advance Accounting), M.Com.(Business Management) & M.A.(History, Marathi, Economics).
Our college building's infrastructure extended to the fifth floor, where a well-equipped lab is located. More than 3500 students are enrolled in the college's junior, degree, and self-finance programmes. The college promotes co-curricular activities in addition to academics. The goal of our college is to support student’s complete growth. For the requirements of the NSS unit, a seminar room and an obstacle course activities were built. For students in all streams, there is a skill development programme as well. The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Thoughts Certificate Course has already begun in 2017. According to NAAC, we received a "B" grade. We also manage the YCMOU Study Center for the subjects of B.A., B.Com., and M.Com.
